If you are reading this, it's too late. The dinos are no more. So, what exactly do we mean when we tell you to save dinos?
Much to the dismay of many people who come across us, we are not a project/business/cult of people who are trying to bring dinosaurs back from the dead. In fact, we pretty much have absolutely nothing to do with dinosaurs whatsoever. The whole idea behind "save the dinos" is just a sarcastic way to bring light to endangered animal conservation, and to try to help prevent other species from going extinct (like the dinosaurs- see what we did there?).
We live in a world where the Kardashians/Jenners/Other people who are famous for no reason get a HUGE social media following and a bunch of television shows that people love to watch on DVR. What about the people who are dedicating their lives to making the world a better place yet desire no recognition for it? What about the employees/volunteers that work for Save the Chimps, Pandas International and the Whaleman Foundation? I think it's a safe bet to say that more people know what Kim K had for breakfast than know what these three organizations do.
Our goal with these sarcastic (yet stylish) tees and blankets is to bring attention to these organizations who don't get enough recognition, while also donating to them in the process. When someone purchases something from our online store, they get to decide where their donation goes to. If "chimps" is selected, 10% of the selling item of that product will be donated directly to Save the Chimps. If "pandas" is selected, 10% will go to Pandas International. Finally, if "cetaceans" is selected (which are dolphins, whales and porpoises), 10% will be donated to the Whaleman Foundation. So far, we have raised close to $1,000 for these organizations, and are hoping the number continues to grow along with The Dinosaur Project.
If you've made it down to this paragraph, I thank you kindly for seeing what we're all about. Unfortunately, the number of endangered species continues to grow in the world, and human influence plays a huge factor in that. Every little bit of awareness helps; you'll be surprised how one "repost" on social media can be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people. Anyone can make a difference, no matter how many followers you have. Don't be afraid. Go change the world. And oh yeah, check out our store and save some dinos in the meantime.
